On August 8, 2019, Stanbic Holdings announced a 14.38% jump in net profit to Sh4 billion in the half year ended June, driven by higher interest and non-interest income.

The lender's net interest income rose 19.51% to Sh6.7 billion, while non-interest income, mainly from fees and commissions, increased 10.15% to Sh6.1 billion.

Stanbic's board proposed an interim dividend of Sh1.25 per share, making it the second lender to announce a growth in half-year results after Equity Bank.

Equity Bank's half-year net profit increased 9% to Sh12 billion, as the lender shifted its focus to the mass market by cutting back on Treasury loans.
