On August 8, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Nairobi's Kariobangi area, where a young woman was stabbed to death by a man.

Susan, a mother of three and a Sonko Rescue Team employee, was attacked by the unknown man while at work in Kariobangi North.

According to Mohamed Njeru, a colleague of Susan's, the man waylaid her at her workplace and stabbed her four times, killing her instantly.

A mob caught the suspect and frog-marched him to the Kariobangi Police Station.

"I had taken a patient to Mama Lucy when I received a call that one of us had been stabbed in Kariobangi North, so I rushed back here only to find her bleeding profusely. Susan died in my hands," stated Njeru.

It has been alleged that the suspect had previously attacked another woman in Kariobangi, slashing her hands, and was released by the police without charges.

"This is the same man who came to another work place and slashed the hands of another girl in Kariobangi," said Njeru.

The Sonko Rescue Team members held protests in Kariobangi, demanding justice for Susan's death.
