David Luiz, the 32-year-old Chelsea defender, is set to make a surprise move to Arsenal on transfer deadline day, according to reports.
Luiz is said to be unsettled at Stamford Bridge and wants a move out, with both Arsenal and Chelsea in advanced talks regarding the deal.
Luiz has played 50 times for Chelsea last season under Maurizio Sarri and helped the west London side finish in the Premier League top-four and win the Europa League.
He is still under contract at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2021 and Blues boss Frank Lampard will not want to lose one of his key players with the club unable to bring in new legs.
Luiz would be expected to be in the starting XI for Chelsea in their season opener against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
It is understood that Luiz has gone on strike to force through a switch to the north London club, with French news media outlet L'Equipe claiming the Brazil international is desperate to force a move through to the Gunners on deadline day.
