On August 7, 2019, the Confederation of African Football (Caf) made a historic decision, declaring Tunisia's Esperance the winners of the African Champions League.
The announcement came after a long legal battle, sparked by a dramatic incident during the second leg of the final in May. Wydad Casablanca, the Moroccan side, stormed off the pitch in protest after a VAR malfunction prevented a disallowed equaliser from being reviewed.
According to Caf, Wydad 'is considered to have lost the game', effectively ending their chances of claiming the title.
