Kirinyaga Deputy Governor Peter Ndambiri is living in fear after being filmed naked by thugs in April. The gang, which hails from the county, has been threatening him with dire consequences if he does not give them money.

Speaking to residents, Ndambiri urged the government to deal with the criminals conclusively, saying he has told them to come and face him.

“If they can intimidate a deputy governor, what about an ordinary person?” he said.

He narrated how he was subjected to humiliation by the gang, who forced him to confess to embarrassing things at gunpoint.

“I escaped death by a whisker, it’s only through God’s grace that I am alive and I can speak to you and explain what happened that fateful day,” he said.

Central regional coordinator Wilson Njega has assured residents that police will deal with the thugs ruthlessly.

He also issued a warning to politicians who protect criminals and bail them out when arrested.
