The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has been summoned to face MCAs accused of embezzling KSh 200,000 meant for a trip to Uganda.

On July 31, EACC wrote to the late Joanes Andiego, a former MCA for Sakwa Central Ward, requesting him to appear before them on August 19, 2019.

Andiego, who passed away in May, was among four MCAs accused of receiving KSh 200,000 to travel to Uganda, but instead, they allegedly used the money for personal gain.

Ignatius Wekesa, the EACC Western Region Director, urged the Siaya County Assembly to ensure the MCAs appear before them on August 12, 2019.

"Please help us ensure that these individuals appear before our offices in Kisumu on August 12, 2019. They should come with their travel documents," Wekesa said.
