On a mission to shake up Kenya's political landscape, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has thrown his hat into the ring for the 2022 presidential election. In a bold move, Kuria has dismissed the Kiambu gubernatorial seat as 'village politics' and instead opted to run for the country's top job.

Speaking to Hot 96, Kuria revealed his intentions to contest the presidency, stating, 'I will still vie for Presidency in 2022. I will be on the ballot.'

With his sights set on the Democratic Party (DP) ticket, a Mt. Kenya Party tied to former President Mwai Kibaki, Kuria is banking on his popularity in the region to secure a spot on the ballot. However, his bid has not gone unnoticed, with Embakasi East MP Babu Owino accusing Kuria of attempting to divide Mt. Kenya votes.

As the 2022 election season heats up, Kuria's candidacy has sent shockwaves through the political establishment, with some questioning his motives. Will Kuria's bid be a spoiler in the making, or will he manage to carve out a niche for himself in the crowded presidential field?
