On July 29, a British Airways flight from Memphis landed at Heathrow Airport, bringing back Danish golf star Thorbjorn Olesen from the St Jude Invitational.
However, the 29-year-old's return was marred by allegations of sexual assault, being drunk on an aircraft, and common assault.
According to the Metropolitan Police, Olesen was arrested upon landing and later released under investigation.
On August 1, he was formally charged with the three offenses by postal requisition.
As a result, the European Tour has suspended Olesen pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.
His lawyer, Paul Morris, released a statement saying that Olesen had cooperated fully with the police investigation but could not comment further due to the ongoing legal proceedings.
Olesen is set to appear in court at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on August 21.
