Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku, 26, has been absent from training without permission, sparking a fine from the club.

According to reports, Lukaku has been training at his former team Anderlecht for the past two days, despite Monday being a scheduled day off for United players.

The Belgium international did not participate in the Premier League club's pre-season matches due to injury, fueling speculation about his future.

His agent, Federico Pastorello, has flown to London to negotiate with officials from both United and Inter Milan, in an attempt to resolve the striker's transfer situation.

However, the clubs remain apart in their valuation of Lukaku, with United seeking at least Sh9.4 billion (£75m) to recoup the amount they paid Everton two years ago.

Inter Milan, led by manager Antonio Conte, have previously expressed interest in the striker, with Conte stating: "I consider him a player who could improve our team."

On July 2019, United rejected a Sh6.8 billion (£54m) bid from Inter Milan for Lukaku, who has yet to return to Manchester despite being expected back at the club on Tuesday.
