On August 7, 2019, Huawei announced a significant growth in revenue, reaching $58.34 billion, a 23.2 percent increase over the same period last year.
The company's net profit margin for H1 2019 was 8.7 percent, indicating a robust financial performance.
According to Huawei's Chairman, Liang Hua, the company's operations are smooth, and it remains as sound as ever. He attributed the success to effective management and excellent performance across all financial indicators.
Huawei's carrier business saw a significant growth, with H1 sales revenue reaching $21.29 billion. The company has secured 50 commercial 5G contracts and shipped over 150,000 base stations to markets worldwide.
In the enterprise business, H1 sales revenue was $4.59 billion, with Huawei enhancing its ICT portfolio across multiple domains, including cloud, artificial intelligence, and Internet of Things.
The consumer business also saw rapid growth, with H1 sales revenue hitting $32.1 billion. Huawei's smartphone shipments reached 118 million units, up 24 percent year on year.
Despite the challenges ahead, Liang expressed confidence in Huawei's future, stating, "Given the foundation we laid in the first half of the year, we continue to see growth even after we were added to the entity list."
He added, "We will stay the course and continue investing as planned, including a total of $17.44 billion in R&D this year."
