A traffic officer was shot and killed in a shootout with a police colleague in Nairobi's Kamukunji police station area on August 7, 2019.

The incident occurred when the police officer, Abel Musati, allegedly tried to bribe the traffic officer, Hillary Korir, who had stopped a matatu for a traffic offense.

According to police reports, Musati had tried to bribe Korir to let the matatu go, but Korir refused and Musati allegedly shot him.

Police said Musati was arrested and charged with murder after the incident.
