On August 7, 2019, Milimani Law Courts Chief Magistrate directed Brian Kibet Bera, the 25-year-old State House intruder, to undergo two months of medical treatment.
Bera, a student at JKUAT, had attempted to enter State House in June this year, where he was shot by police officers manning the premises.
According to the court, Bera appears to be unwell and needs medical attention, which will be provided for a period of two months.
Before his attempt to gain entry into State House, Bera had posted on his Facebook page about his plans, and had also apologized to President Uhuru Kenyatta and the court for his actions.
However, State prosecutor Kajuju Kirimi told the court that the prosecution had not been able to reach President Kenyatta to register the suspect's desire for his forgiveness.
Bera will be under medication for a period of two months and will appear in court on October 9.
