Published on August 7, 2019, Laurent Koscielny's decision to leave Arsenal for Bordeaux has sparked outrage among Gunners fans.

The 33-year-old Frenchman, who joined Arsenal in 2010, announced his departure in a video that has left fans fuming. In the video, Koscielny is seen wearing an Arsenal shirt before taking it off to reveal his new Bordeaux kit underneath.

Gunners legend Ian Wright was quick to condemn Koscielny's actions, branding them as a 'level of disrespect.' Wright tweeted, 'This hurts. The level of disrespect. You should be ashamed for the way you've left the club after nine years! Got what you wanted and still trying to have a dig. Hopeful it's worth it in the long run.'

On his part, Koscielny announced his retirement on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the nine years he spent at Arsenal. He said, 'After 9 years spent at Arsenal, I took the decision to leave. I have spent nine wonderful years with this club, nine years during which I Learned, evolved, grew up.'

Koscielny's departure from Arsenal comes after a tumultuous summer, during which he refused to go on the pre-season tour in a bid to force a move away from the Emirates outfit. The Frenchman captained the Gunners in their Europa League final defeat by Chelsea in Baku.
