On January 12, 2018, Louise Porton, a 23-year-old prostitute from Rugby, Warwickshire, killed her three-year-old daughter Lexi Draper. Eighteen days later, she strangled her youngest daughter Scarlett Vaughan, citing that the girls had 'got in the way' of her life as a sex worker.
Porton was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 32 years last week. Her mother, Sharon, has branded her a 'monster' and revealed that Porton had been planning to kill her youngest child.
According to a relative, Porton was violent towards her family from a young age and even stole from her grandmother. The relative believes that Porton should face the death penalty for her heinous crimes.
Porton's social media activity has also raised concerns. She posted a tribute to her daughters on Facebook eight months after their deaths, and days after her arrest, she made another post using the hashtags 'Smile' and 'fk the haters.'
Prosecutor Oliver Saxby QC revealed that during the same period, Porton passed her number to a hospital security guard and exchanged 87 messages with him.
