Konshens Finds Backup Singers in Kenya ¶
On August 1, 2019, Jamaican dancehall artist Konshens announced a search for two Kenyan vocalists to act as his backup singers for an upcoming concert in Nairobi, Kenya on September 7, 2019.
He posed the challenge on Twitter, asking singers to submit their videos for consideration.
After numerous trial videos, Konshens settled on recording artist Pryshon Africa and singer-songwriter Sechi Love as his backup singers.
He expressed his excitement on Twitter, saying, 'Listen to this??. Congrats bro, 1 down 1 to go.??????'
Before announcing the final selection, Konshens had tweeted, 'And just like that. 2 of 2. WOW KENYA. Lets go. Check ur DM @PryshonKe'
However, just after the ultimate challenge was over, more and more captivating talent came his way as he cried out, 'Wooowwww what are u guys eating in Kenya????????'
He finally made up his mind, saying, 'Ok clearly we need a 3hour show in Kenya. 2 and half hours for me and an 30mins to highlight all this amzing talent in Kenya? @GMONEYizME'
Super-excited Kenyan fans pushed for more, with some suggesting a 4-hour show or even a 5-hour show to break Chronixx's record.
