On August 7, 2019, The Points Guy released a study ranking the 50 busiest US airports, and San Diego International Airport took the top spot.
When choosing which airport to fly into or out of, travelers may not always have a say, but in scenarios where a choice exists, it can make a significant difference in their travel experience.
According to Scott Mayorowitz, The Points Guy's executive news director, "if you're going to Disney, you pretty much have to fly into Orlando," but in other cases, travelers can opt for a more convenient airport.
The study, which focused on 34 factors including delay and cancellation rates, ride-hailing prices, and security wait times, found that San Diego International Airport excelled in these areas.
