When President Museveni's government accused Bobi Wine of treason, many were shocked. However, the musician's latest charge of 'intending to annoy, alarm or ridicule' the president during a court appearance on Tuesday has left many wondering if the government is indeed in 'panic mode.'
According to reports, Bobi Wine, whose real names are Robert Kyagulanyi, was handed the second charge while he was already in court to answer a treason charge.
Reacting to the new charge, Bobi Wine stated, 'This government of President Museveni is in panic mode. At first, it was treason, and now it is annoying President Museveni. Who on earth can't be annoyed?' He added, 'It is a ridiculous charge, and I am ready to challenge it in court.'
As Bobi Wine prepares to face this new charge, police officers are still investigating the kidnapping and torture of one of his supporters. The incident, which has been widely condemned, has raised questions about the state of human rights in Uganda.
