Controversy has erupted on social media after Saumu Mbuvi, daughter of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, made a series of comments about city women, including a call to 'menopause polepole'.

According to reports, Saumu shared a photo of herself and her lover, Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip, with her daughter, captioning it 'Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family: Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one..yet it is not defined by our genes but it is built and maintained through LOVE and RESPECT??❤️#BLESSED'.

However, one of her followers, Ma Kasaine, commented on the post, advising Saumu on how to raise her daughter, saying 'Chunga sana huyo mtoto. don’t keep introducing different men in your life, it’s not good for her.'

Not taking kindly to the advice, Saumu responded with a series of scathing comments, including '@ma_kasaine with your age …maisha yangu inakuashia nini..wewe lea wako utakavyo…This life didn’t come with a Manual!! Let’s see how your daughter will turn out!!! Are you God to judge,' and 'peleka menopause polepole. next time u want to spread your negativity keep to yourself and your family not peoples kids!!.'

Her comments sparked a heated debate on social media, with many calling her out for her distasteful remarks. Saumu later pulled down the posts and shared another one, which read 'He who must destroy others to succeed must know that destruction awaits him at the gate of his success.'

She also shared a message to her critics, talking about her past life experiences, saying 'While they are waiting for her Downfall, what they don’t know is she has already stumbled, fell and got Back up!! No turning back.'

It's worth noting that Saumu's remarks come barely a week after her father was criticized for attacking Suba MP Millie Odhiambo for being childless.
