On July 3, a dramatic scene unfolded at the Kenya Aeronautical College in Nairobi's Wilson Airport, where a woman, Dorcas Nduku, was charged with invading the college and causing disturbance by stripping naked.
According to a police report, Nduku's actions were an attempt to check on her alleged lover, Samson Aketch, the director and owner of the college.
Police received a call from the director, requesting that Nduku be escorted from the premises by all means. However, as police and security guards tried to remove her, she took off her clothes, remaining only in her underwear, and started shouting.
Nduku claimed that Aketch had sent her love texts and invited her to visit him, and that she had believed him to be her husband for over 13 years.
She pleaded for lenient bond terms, stating that she was a single mother and a maize hawker in the Nairobi CBD, with only Sh3,000 on her M-Pesa.
Magistrate Derrick Kuto released Nduku on Sh20,000 bond or Sh5,000 bail with a credible contact person, and adjourned the matter to August 21 for mention and October 29 for hearing.
