He passed away on Tuesday, 6 August, at the age of 70, after a long battle with cancer that began in 2017.

Dr. Mulindi was a former Deputy Director of the National Air Control Council, serving for six years from 2008-2014, and a senior lecturer in the Psychiatry department of the University of Nairobi.

He will be remembered for his tireless efforts to reduce the HIV prevalence rate in Kenya, which had reached a high of 30% in the early 2000s.

Dr. Mulindi was a vocal advocate for safe sex practices and openly discussed the correlation between sex and HIV/AIDS, educating and warning youths about the dangers of unprotected sex.

He was heavily involved in the development of the Sessional Paper No. 4 on HIV-AIDS and wrote 'HIV/AIDS Situation Analysis' for the Ministry of Health, which helped facilitate the development of its strategic plan on HIV and AIDS.

Dr. Mulindi was also a key player in the development of four natural strategic plans for HIV/AIDS prevention in Kenya and other countries, including South Africa, Swaziland, Rwanda, Benin, Somalia, Congo, and Brazzaville.

He was a team leader that facilitated and launched the First Lady's agenda towards Zero Campaign in 2013.
