On August 6, 2019, a tragic car accident occurred in Murang'a County, Kenya, resulting in the deaths of four people.
The accident happened when the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and crashed into a tree before plunging into a ditch.
According to Kamanda wa Polisi Kaunti ya Murang'a Josphat Kinyua, four of the six people in the vehicle died shortly after the accident.
Two of the injured were rushed to Maragwa Hospital with severe injuries.
The accident occurred on the Kenol-Murang'a road in the Ithe Ruui area, a notorious spot known for frequent accidents.
Just two months prior, a sub-chief in the area had died in a similar accident, and in 2019, the Water Cabinet Secretary Paul Macharia was involved in a fatal accident on the same road.
Residents in the area have expressed concerns about the high number of accidents in the area.
