Kenya's county government workers are set to go on strike if their salaries are not paid by Monday, August 12, 2019.

Members of the Kenya County Government Workers Union have given a 7-day strike notice starting Tuesday, August 13, 2019, amidst uncertainty over the 2019 budget.

The union's Secretary General, Roba Duba, expressed disappointment at how county governments are mistreating workers who are not involved in the budget process.
