Arsenal Captain Laurent Koscielny Leaves for Bordeaux ¶
Laurent Koscielny, the French captain of Arsenal, has ended his nine-year stay with the Gunners, joining French side Bordeaux ahead of the new season.
According to a statement released by Arsenal on August 6, 2019, the transfer of the centre-back will be subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
Koscielny joined Arsenal in 2010 from Lorient and went on to establish himself as an integral squad member under former manager Arsene Wenger.
During his time at the Emirates, he made over 350 appearances for the Gunners and was part of the Emirates FA Cup-winning squads in 2014, 2015, and 2017.
"We thank Laurent for his contribution to the club and wish him all the best for the future," the statement said.
His departure comes just weeks after refusing to travel to the United States with the rest of the squad for pre-season.
