On August 6, 2019, the National Bank of Kenya and Kenyatta National Hospital unveiled a major makeover of the hospital's state-of-the-art kitchen, marking the completion of phase one of a three-part project aimed at giving the referral hospital a facelift.
The Ksh25 million kitchen renovation is the first of its kind since the hospital opened in 1901 and will significantly improve the quality of meals prepared for over 2,000 patients daily.
According to Ag. CEO Kenyatta National Hospital, Dr. Evanson Kamuri, catering services are vital in supporting patient management, and the renovation will enable the hospital to provide well-cooked nutritious food that increases the response of a patient to medical treatment.
“Well cooked nutritious food increases the response of a patient to the medical treatment offered by our specialists,” said Dr Kamuri. “We have no doubt that our patients will appreciate the improvement in our catering services as a result of this gracious project.”
The partnership between the National Bank of Kenya and Kenyatta National Hospital commenced in 2003 and has since grown into a successful relationship, enabling the hospital to deploy technology-powered payments processing solutions and reduce manual work.
“The partnership with KNH commenced in 2003 and has since grown into a very successful relationship between,” said National Bank of Kenya Managing Director and CEO Wilfred Musau.
The National Bank of Kenya has a strategic branch within the hospital to ensure maximum support for the institution to meet its obligations efficiently.
