On Monday night, a group of roughly ten attackers descended on residents of Kwa Bulo, Lake View, and Bamburi, armed with machetes and panga, robbing and slashing anyone in their path.

At least 13 people were injured in the melee and are currently receiving treatment at Coast General Hospital.

Area Police Commander Johnson Ipara has confirmed that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack: Jackson Okelo, Paul Ayub, and 17-year-old Ibrahim Mohammed Hamdan.

Police have launched a security operation in the area to flush out ten members of the gang, known as the Wakali Kwanza gang, and are pursuing one suspect in Likoni.

The gang members are said to be between the ages of 16 and 25.

Residents have been asked to remain calm as police continue their manhunt for other suspects.
