On August 6, 2019, HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, announced a price cut for the Nokia 1 Plus in Kenya, aiming to boost sales in the entry-level segment.
The Nokia 1 Plus was first launched in Kenya early this year and initially retailed for around Ksh 9,300. However, with the recent influx of new brands in the market, including Vivo, a sister company to OPPO and One Plus, HMD Global has decided to slash the price to KES 8,300.
According to Gopher Ogembo, Senior Business Manager – HMD East Africa, 'We are happy to announce today that more Nokia smartphone fans looking to upgrade their entry-level phones can now get the Nokia 1 Plus at a reduced price.'
The Nokia 1 Plus runs on the latest Android 9 Pie (Go edition), offering a smooth and responsive experience. It also comes with free unlimited high-quality photo storage with Google Photos and is designed to run faster and consume less data.
The phone features a cutting-edge design with a gorgeous textured nano-pattern at the back and a big, bright screen. Its polycarbonate shell is inherently coloured, providing a unique texture for a sophisticated look and feel.
