The family of Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali is preparing to bring home the body of his first-born son Chris Atema, who tragically died in the United States on July 26th.
According to the family, Atema's body will be airlifted to Kenya this week, with the funeral set to take place soon after.
Chris Atema, 35, was on holiday with his family in Arizona when he died after reportedly trying to rescue a teenage girl of Canadian descent who was drowning in a swimming pool.
As a hero, Atema left behind an expectant wife and two young children.
His brother Robert Ayitsi has stated that the family will issue a comprehensive statement on the circumstances surrounding Atema's death once they have been briefed by MP Bernard Shinali, who has traveled to the USA.
