Kenyan radio personality Maina Kageni has revealed that his favourite song is 'Queen B' by Sailors, a revelation that has left many Kenyans surprised.
Published on August 6, 2019, Maina's love for Tanzanian music has been a topic of discussion in the past, with some critics arguing that he favours Diamond Platnumz and his WCB crew.
However, his recent revelation about his favourite song has sparked a new debate, with some fans expressing their disappointment that he didn't choose a Kenyan song.
When his fans asked him to play 'Wamlambez' by Sailors, Maina revealed that 'Queen B' is his current go-to song, saying, 'My favourite song is 'Queen B' by Sailors, It's what I am currently playing in my car.'
Months ago, gospel artiste Daddy Owen had hit out at Maina for playing Tanzanian music over and over again in his radio show, writing, '“Editor ndio predator, manager ndio damager, producer ndio reducer, promoter ndio demoter, publisher ndio punisher, this is kenya,”'
Maina responded to Daddy Owen, saying that his music gets a lot of airplay, and told the gospel singer to advise his fellow musicians to give presenters good songs that will push foreign content off the Kenyan playlists.
He said, 'I agree!!!!! But tell your contemporaries to give us content that will PUSH foreigners off our playlists…. you are highly rotated… advise them what they need to do to be the next @daddyowen….”
