Manchester United's new £80 million defender Harry Maguire is set to make his debut in the Premier League opener against Chelsea on Sunday, August 11, 2019.
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is confident that the 26-year-old England centre-back will live up to his hefty price tag, which makes him the world's most expensive defender.
Maguire signed a six-year contract with the option for a further 12-month extension, reportedly worth £80 million, surpassing the previous record fee of £75 million paid by Liverpool for Virgil van Dijk in 2018.
Manchester City had been interested in Maguire, but their manager Pepe Guardiola admitted that they couldn't afford his huge fee.
