Ken Okoth's family has put aside their differences and decided to hold a prayer service at his maternal home in Kabondo Kasipul, Homa Bay County, after a visit from Suba South MP John Mbadi.

Earlier, the family had planned to conduct Luo traditional rituals, including burying a banana stem to symbolize the interment of Okoth's body, but they have now ditched this plan.

Okoth's mother, Angeline Ajwang, and some family members had insisted that he should be buried, while others supported his wish to be cremated.

Okoth passed away on July 26th after succumbing to colorectal cancer, and his body was cremated at Kariakor Crematorium in Nairobi last Saturday.
