Hillary Barchok Sworn-in as New Bomet County Governor

On Thursday, Hillary Barchok Kipngeno was sworn-in as the new Bomet County Governor, succeeding Dr. Joyce Laboso who passed away on July 29th, 2019.

As the Deputy Governor since August 2017, Barchok took over the reins of the county after Laboso's death, and will now serve as the third Governor of Bomet County, following Isaac Ruto and Laboso.

Laboso's funeral was held on Saturday at her matrimonial home in Fort Ternan, Kisumu County, where she was laid to rest.

According to Evalyne Rono, Chairperson of the Assumption of the Office of the Governor Committee in Bomet County, Barchok's swearing-in ceremony was held at the Bomet Green Stadium.
