Published on August 6, 2019, Kenyan singer Esther Akoth, alias Akothee, has taken her charitable organization to Turkana County, a region severely affected by drought.
After mobilizing food donations for starving residents in March this year, Akothee has now launched the Akothee Foundation in Turkana to help the needy and hunger-stricken people in the region.
"The grand opening of Akothee Foundation TURKANA branch," she announced on her social media pages.
As part of her efforts, the foundation will help sink water boreholes in the area, among other activities.
Her initiative to mobilize food and water for starving Kenyans in Turkana County received widespread praise online, with many commending her for her selfless efforts.
