Published on August 6, 2019, MCF FC is gearing up for the high-stakes FKF Division Two playoffs, set to take place on Saturday at Machakos Stadium.
The team, which topped FKF Division Two Zone A with 75 points, has been on the ascendancy following the financial support by Mully Children’s Family and the arrival of coach Robert Orangi.
Orangi, formerly an assistant coach of Ushuru FC, expressed confidence in his team's preparation, stating, 'We are relaxed ahead of the playoffs and preparing just like any other day.'
Despite being considered underdogs, Orangi is optimistic about the team's chances, citing their momentum in the second leg of the playoffs where they won all their matches.
MCF FC has made significant strides since joining the FKF County League, with the team's ambition of becoming the first team from Eastern and North Eastern region to play in the Kenyan Premier League within reach.
The team's journey to the playoffs began last year when they gained promotion to the FKF Division Two after finishing second behind Nunguni Yulu FC in the Southern Branch County League.
Restructured in 2017 to become a professional outfit under the umbrella of Mully Children’s Family, a non-profit organization founded by philanthropist Dr Charles Mulli, MCF FC has also established a girls' team and a football academy for boys and girls in various age categories.
