Body of MP Bernard Shinali's Son to be Airlifted from the US to Kenya for Burial

The family of Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali is preparing to bring home the body of his first-born son Chris Atema, who tragically died in the United States on July 26th.

According to the family, Atema's body will be airlifted to Kenya this week, with the funeral set to take place soon after.

Chris Atema, 35, was on holiday with his family in Arizona when he died after drowning in a swimming pool while trying to rescue a teenage girl of Canadian descent.

As reported, Atema was serving in the US Marine Corps and left behind an expectant wife and two children.

His brother Robert Ayitsi stated that the family will issue a comprehensive statement on the circumstances leading to his death once they have been briefed by the MP, who has traveled to the USA.
