On August 6, 2019, Dr. Pimple Popper, a dermatologist and TLC host, Dr. Sandra Lee, MD, shared a new YouTube video where she removes a small pilar cyst from a man's forehead.
The pilar cyst, a fluid-filled lump that tends to form on the scalp, is typically benign and affects just 5 to 10 percent of the population, as noted by MedicalNewsToday.
According to the patient, he had dealt with the pilar cyst at least 20 times in the past. Dr. Lee made a small incision using a pair of surgical scissors and then squeezed the cyst out of the patient's forehead crease, comparing it to a 'magic bean.'
As one commenter noted, 'There's something so satisfying about the whole cyst coming out in one piece.'
Dr. Lee also gave the patient a chance to provide her fans with one of their favorite moments, cutting into the cyst to show what's inside. The patient used a scalpel to slice apart the cyst wall, and Dr. Lee gave it a squeeze for good measure, revealing what's inside.
"See that? That's all dead skin cells," Dr. Lee said.
