On August 5, 2019, Dr. Pimple Popper, a dermatologist, shared a new video on her YouTube channel where she tackled a pilar cyst.
Dr. Pimple Popper used a scalpel to slice into the patient's forehead, revealing a cluster of pilar cysts. The patient had suffered from close to 20 of these pesky cysts.
After slicing along the natural forehead crease, Dr. Pimple Popper switched tools, using scissors and a metal tool with a hooked end to continue clearing out the cyst. However, the tools didn't quite cut it, so she used her fingers to give it a good squeeze.
"I'm backing up because I've gotten hit before," Dr. Pimple Popper said, recalling a previous experience where she had to play catch with a pilar cyst.
With a little pressure, the pilar cyst popped, revealing a white, keratin-filled center. Dr. Pimple Popper compared the cyst to a popcorn-flavored jelly bean, saying, "This is your reward."
Thanks to Dr. Pimple Popper's expertise, there's one less pilar cyst to worry about out there.
