Man Charged for Yelling at Another in Nairobi

On July 31, 2019, a disturbing incident occurred at the Kenya Cultural Centre along Harry Thuku Road in Nairobi. Samuel Muli Mutuku allegedly pushed Edwin Gichangi against a wall and used abusive words, including “useless man”, “I don’t fear you”, “Utakipata”, and “Nitakuua”.

Mr. Mutuku was subsequently charged with creating a disturbance in a manner likely to cause breach of peace, contrary to the Laws of Kenya. He appeared before Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi and pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Mr. Mutuku was released on a cash bail of Ksh.5,000 and the case was set for mentioning on September 18, 2019.
