On Monday, a Nairobi court arraigned a man accused of attempting to steal from an M-Pesa agent.

Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi presided over the case, in which Darian Omondi Ondong'o was charged with robbery with violence.

The suspect allegedly attempted to rob Mary Anyango Wesonga of an unknown amount of money at her M-Pesa shop, armed with a pistol and a knife.

He was also accused of being in possession of an imitation firearm.

Ondong'o denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Ksh.300,000.

The case will be mentioned on August 19, 2019.
