On August 5, 2019, Equity Group Holdings Plc announced the appointment of Gerald Warui as the 4th Managing Director of Equity Bank Kenya, marking a significant milestone in the bank's 35-year history.
Polycarp Igathe, who had been serving as Managing Director since January 2019, tendered his resignation to the Board, which was accepted on the same day. Igathe will rejoin his previous employer, Vivo, to take up a newly created role as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Africa.
