On August 5, 2019, a brazen attempt at prison escape ended in failure for Brazilian drug trafficker Clauvino da Silva, also known as 'Shorty.'
Clauvino, serving a 73-year jail term for his involvement with the Red Command drug faction, tried to sneak out of one of the country's toughest prisons dressed in his daughter's clothes, complete with a silicon girl's mask, bra, long dark-haired wig, and skin-tight t-shirt emblazoned with three pink donuts.
He attempted to convince the guards manning the gate that he was his 19-year-old daughter heading home after visiting hours.
However, Clauvino's nervousness gave him away when he approached the officer to return his daughter's ID, prompting the officers to ask him to strip in front of cameras.
Clauvino's attempt at disguise was reminiscent of Mexico's infamous drug lord Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán, who escaped from jail in 2015 through a mile-long tunnel, a multi-million dollar bribe, and on a private plane waiting for him.
