The family of Ikolomani MP Bernard Shinali is preparing to receive the body of his first-born son, Chris Atema Masaka, who tragically drowned in a swimming pool in Arizona, USA, on July 26.

According to Robert Ayitsi, Masaka's brother, the deceased was on holiday with his family in Arizona when he met his death while trying to rescue a young Canadian girl.

Mr. Ayitsi revealed that Masaka had only been in Arizona for one day before his sudden death.

Friends and relatives have been working on funeral arrangements in Nairobi and Ikolomani, with Masaka expected to be buried this coming weekend.

On Wednesday, Masaka's body will be flown home, marking the end of a difficult journey for the family.
