On August 5, 2019, Eldoret Anglican Bishop Dr. Christopher Rutto spoke out against corruption in the Sh19 billion Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal.

At ACK St. Mathews church in Eldoret, Bishop Rutto launched the church's activity week and expressed his concerns about the scandal, saying that the amount of money involved 'can't disappear without the knowledge of senior people in government.'

He urged former Finance Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich, who has stepped aside from his duties, to name his alleged accomplices in the scandal, saying 'if indeed Rotich ‘ate’ the Arror and Kimwarer dam projects money with others, he should come out and name them however mighty they are and not accept to die alone.'

Bishop Rutto emphasized the importance of fighting corruption in an orderly and transparent manner, saying 'where millions of taxpayers' money is stolen, it must be brought out in public and those involved made to face the full force of the law.'

He also called on the Jubilee government to put its house in order and serve the people of Kenya as they promised, saying 'they must deliver what they promised, during the campaigns their slogan was 'tuko pamoja' where has that unity gone?'
