On August 5, 2019, Ugandan politician Bobby Wine mourned the brutal murder of Ugandan artiste Zigy Wine, who had been kidnapped days earlier by unknown individuals.
According to Bobby Wine, Zigy Wine was found badly tortured three days after his kidnapping.
‘Ziggy Wine was kidnapped only to be found three days back tortured beyond recognition. His left eye plucked out, two fingers cut off, belongings taken & left for dead.
Despite efforts to save him, Zigy Wine passed away at Mulago hospital, leaving behind a grieving family and a devastated community.
‘Zigy Wyne’s last days on earth were very painful. Those who kidnapped him did to him the worst things a human being can do to another- cut off his fingers, plucked out his eye, grossly tortured him, and left him to die a very painful death.
As a member of the Firebase Crew, Zigy Wine was a hard-working young man and a strong supporter of the #PeoplePower movement.
