On August 5, 2019, Jamaican dancehall artist Konshens announced that he was looking for talented singers from Kenya to act as backup vocalists for his upcoming concert in the country.
He posed the question on social media, 'Singers in Kenya? Like real vocalists? Think I’m gonna do a singers competition where 2 winners get to be my backing vocalists on my show the 7th and maybe get to perform solo too? And maybe have me produce and release a song for them too? Should I?'
After numerous trial videos, Konshens settled on two singers: Pryshon Africa, a performing and recording artist, and Sechi Love, a singer-songwriter.
He took to his Twitter page to announce the winners, saying, 'Listen to this congrats bro, 1 down 1 to go. And just like that. 2 of 2. WOW KENYA. Let’s go.'
Earlier, Konshens had revealed that he would be in Kenya on September 7 for a concert, which he referred to as 'Coming Home.'
