On August 5, 2019, Kenya's national soccer team, Harambee Stars, suffered a disappointing loss to Tanzania in the 2020 African Nations Championships qualifiers.

The match, held at Kasarani Stadium, ended in a 0-0 draw after regular time, forcing the game into a penalty shootout.

Kenya's Cliffton Miheso scored in the penalty shootout, but his teammates Mike Kibwage and Joash Onyango failed to convert their shots, handing Tanzania the victory.

Tanzania will now face Sudan in the final round of the qualifiers, with the winner advancing to the 2020 Africa Nation Championship in Cameroon.

Coach Sebastien Migne's focus will now shift to the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in 2021, where Kenya will face Egypt away and Togo home.
