Published on August 5, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has been at the center of several public feuds with female politicians.
One of the latest victims of Sonko's tantrums is Millie Odhiambo, the Suba Member of Parliament.
During a public exchange, Sonko called Odhiambo names and even went as far as to demean her for being childless, a comment that Odhiambo did not take lightly.
‘I HEAR SONKO HAS ATTACKED ME FOR BEING CHILDLESS. I AM PROUDLY CHILDLESS JUST LIKE SEVERAL OTHER WOMEN AND MEN. LET US ALL BE PROUD OF OUR VARIOUS GOD-GIVEN CREATIONS INCLUDING COMMAS AND FULLSTOPS.’ Odhiambo wrote in response.
Another female politician who has been on the receiving end of Sonko's humiliation is Esther Passaris.
During a public event, Sonko bluntly told Passaris that he was not her husband and that she should not call him whenever she felt like it.
‘Unanipigia simu mimi si bwana yako. Anataka kunipiganisha na wamama na mimi nawapenda sana wamama,” said Sonko.
He went on to add, “Mama mmoja asifanye diversionary tactics za kunikosanisha na wamama. Mimi niko na bibi na watoto wasichana.”
Former Nairobi Women representative Rachel Shebesh is also among the female politicians who have tasted first hand Sonko's humiliating tactics.
Photos of Rachel and Sonko allegedly in a hotel room emerged online, leading to a public feud between the two.
Sonko hit back at Shebesh, claiming she wanted to ruin his marriage.
The two also had an altercation within the parliament building, with Sonko allegedly trying to wrestle a phone from Shebesh's hand, leading to a verbal confrontation.
