On August 5, 2019, a 52-year-old man in Nakuru was attacked by his wife in Free Area Estate, leaving him with severe genital injuries.

According to Free Area Location Senior Chief Stephen Macharia, the attack occurred after the wife accused her husband of not providing for their family.

She allegedly attacked her husband first with a club, then picked a kitchen knife and targeted his genitals.

Neighbours who responded to the man's cries for help found him lying on the floor with blood gushing from the wound.

They rushed him to the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital, where he was admitted in a critical condition.

Dr. Joseph Mburu, the doctor who attended to the patient, stated that he is now in a stable condition.

Police officers intervened to prevent an angry mob from lynching the wife and took her to Bondeni police station for further investigation.

Nakuru Town East police commander Elena Kabukuru confirmed that investigations into the attack have started, with plans to charge the suspect with assault.
