The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji will now determine the fate of the three senior managers of Pyrethrum Processing Company of Kenya (PPCK) after the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) concluded investigations into graft allegations.
According to EACC South Rift Regional Director Hassan Khalid, the file has been forwarded to the DPP, and the managers will soon know their fate.
The investigations, which started in March 2018, centered on the misuse of agency funds, including rent collected from property owned by PPCK, and the use of Sh20 million allocated for the establishment of a pyrethrum seedling nursery in Samburu County, which was never put up.
Additionally, the EACC probed how Sh144 million released by the government last year to settle salary arrears and statutory deductions for workers was used, with allegations that PPCK has not settled statutory deductions for employees up to date.
On August 5, 2019, The Standard reported that sources revealed that out of Sh2 million collected every month, only Sh247,000 could be accounted for.
