On August 16th, Nairobi's Sarova Hotel will host a ceremony to recognize the contributions of African leaders, including Raila Odinga, who will receive the coveted Africa Voice Achiever Award. The award, founded by Ambassador Elvis Iruh from the Netherlands, aims to recognize individuals who have played a significant role in reforming their countries and the continent.
According to Ambassador Iruh, "Each year, people from various walks of life nominate individuals who they deem fit to be recognized for their contributions towards the advancement of Africa."
Other Kenyan leaders set to receive awards include Foreign Ministry Chief Administrative Secretary Ababu Namwamba, who will receive the African Inspirational Leadership Award, and Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, who will be given the Governor of the Year Award.
Additionally, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has been nominated for the Africa Community Figure Award, while Archbishop Arthur Kitonga and his wife, Josephine, have been jointly nominated for the Africa Courageous Award.
Other notable recipients include lawyer PLO Lumumba, Lady Justice Aluoch, Raphael Obonyo, Big Ted Kwaka, Connie Aluoch, Obi Emelonye, Lydia Tet Olet, Kadogo Naus Nyawade, and James Mureu.
