On Sunday morning, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko made a grand entrance at a four-star hotel in Nakuru, leaving a trail of drama and controversy in his wake.

According to eyewitnesses, Sonko forced the hotel's chef and manager to taste his breakfast before he could eat it, a bizarre request that has left many scratching their heads.

As reported by media outlets, Sonko had spent the night at the hotel after attending a funeral service for the late Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso.

His motorcade, which comprised of four fuel-guzzling vehicles, including two Landcruiser V8s, a Lexus LX 570, and a Nissan Patrol Platinum V8, followed by four off-road pickups mounted with public address systems, nearly brought business in the area to a standstill.

Adding to the spectacle was a mini-fire engine belonging to the Nairobi County Government, which accompanied Sonko's convoy.

One client at the hotel was quoted as saying, 'Why does he have to travel with a fire engine in tow? This man is enjoying life. I hope these are not taxpayers' money.'

As Sonko made his way through Nakuru, he interacted with locals, leaving many to wonder about his priorities and use of public resources.
